Brand Ambassador of BOB

Origins & Ownership Bank of Baroda (BoB) was founded in 1908 by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III of Baroda along with a group of local businessmen. It’s now one of India’s largest public sector banks (majority government-owned), with international operations spanning around 100 branches/offices of subsidiaries across 20 countries, plus a domestic network of over 8,200 branches, 10,000 ATMs, and 1,200 self-service e-lobbies.

Visual Identity — “The Baroda Sun”

  • BoB’s logo, introduced in the 2000s, replaced an older blue-and-white circular emblem. Before the 2000s redesign, the bank used a “cold” white-and-blue circle with symbolic elements linking the institution to industry and agriculture.
  • The current mark is nicknamed the Baroda Sun — two dual “B” letter-forms that hold the rays of a rising sun.
  • Symbolically, the sun represents “the single most powerful source of light and energy,” reflecting the bank’s ambition to be a reliable, one-stop partner for customers while offering strong returns to investors and career opportunities to employees, radiating outward much like sunlight. The Baroda Sun was chosen as a universal symbol of dynamism and optimism, decodable across the bank’s diverse customer base and geographies.
  • Color: a single, dominant orange/vermillion palette (~#F26522). The vermillion tone was deliberately chosen for its distinctiveness and its association with hope and energy.
  • Composite Logo: following the 2019 merger of Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank into BoB, the logo now carries an identifier plus logotype in Hindi and English, referred to as the Composite Logo.

Brand Positioning The stated ambition is to be a top-ranking national bank of international standards, committed to augmenting stakeholder value through concern, care, and competence. The brand narrative leans heavily on legacy — balancing readiness for a globalized, modern business environment with a strong connection to heritage and long-standing relationships.

Brand Ambassadors (current roster) 2026:

  • Sachin Tendulkar — Global Brand Ambassador (signed Oct 2024, 3-year deal), fronting the “Play The Masterstroke” campaign
  • P.V. Sindhu, Shafali Verma, Sumit Nagal — sports brand endorsers
  • Shreyanka Patil — brand ambassador for subsidiary BOBCARD Ltd.
  • Historically: Rahul Dravid (from 2005)

Since you mentioned “Ambassador Portfolio” earlier — this endorsement roster (Tendulkar + Sindhu + Verma + Nagal, plus subsidiary-level faces like Patil) is likely what that phrase refers to institutionally; there’s no separate public program of that name.
